I was double-charged by this hotel-chain, and despite me having reached out to them several times, I have still yet to receive the amount of money, that was wrongfully and illegally taken from my account.

Poor Hotel Holiday inn express Malaga…
We are in Holiday inn express Malaga Spain
The room is quite small but nice and clean.
The staff is the best thing in the hotel, they are very nice, helpful and so friendly. [10 stars]
But the breakfast is very poor, and the restaurant in breakfast is overcrowded and not air-conditioned.
On Saturday we had to buy food from outside the hotel because we didn't find any place to sit in the restaurant and there was a log queue.
The wifi also is very bad.
The room has 2 beds, one of them is comfortable but the other one (sofa) is not comfortable .
Maybe it's OK for just one or two days stay but not more.
*They offer some discount coupons that can be used in many attractions. Really valuable!
Poor sleep and shocking breakfast experience
Room was clean & bathroom ok.
Mattress was appalling, soft and could feel springs through it, huge valley in middle.
Went to breakfast and only 15 people in huge dining area but couldn’t get table as they all had piles of plates and cutlery on them. Eventually I moved things aside and set my own table. Went for buffet breakfast. No hot food in trays….aside from baked beans. I took a croissant and some butter, then couldn’t get a knife (as they are clearly all still on the tables). No staff in sight, so had to go to reception. Member of staff was very dismissive and just said more food was being cooked (waited 20 mins - no food). She also said all the cutlery was being washed, so went away & found some plastic cutlery for us (but again didn’t seem too happy about it). Finally went to get some water for my daughter to take some medication, breakfast didn’t include water, again I asked at reception and was told I could buy some bottled water! I asked that instead of complimentary tea/coffee, could I not have glass of water, no was the reply.
I appreciate that clearly the place was understaffed, perhaps just unfortunate illness at last minute that staff phoned in sick, but I’m guessing the hotel will not be compensating customers because of that, so therefore why should a customers expectation be less than promised hot food, cutlery and water!

Parking money makers !
UPDATE: Holiday Inn Stirling have now resolved this but it should never have gone this far.
Holiday Inn Express employ Parking Eye to monitor parking at their Stirling branch. We parked up registered at reception and entered our car registration details on the portal on reception. We were therefore surprised to receive a parking fine for the duration of our stay. I duly appealed confirming the above and sent a copy of our booking which was the only evidence I could provide. I was then further surprised that I have now received a letter refusing our appeal due to lack of evidence. Whilst Holiday Inn we’re not primarily responsible they are happy to employ such companies who make money out of honest customers. Please be warned!!!! I will never use Holiday Inn or Express again!

Not bad nor great
Holiday Inn express Stirling
It's not bad but not great either
But friendly staff, and good breakfast ?
When a booking at Holiday inn bicester is not a booking….
Made a booking at Holiday Inn Express Bicester in March 2022 for two nights in June 24 and 25. Had printout showing We had booked and showed Card details given. Your room will be held until the day of your check in. We arrive…no evidence of reservation at reception. Had to go online at hotel via booking.com to get room for two nights at £100 extra. Outraged … had already paid the £10 fee for parking on this industrial estate site.. Duty manager was as helpful as he could be within the rules of IHG group. We did pay the extra £100 as We have a wedding tomorrow. Clearly a problem with the ing.com site through whom original booking was made. Be aware if you are booking online with ihg do not rely on what you believe to be a confirmation. Formal complaint made to Guest relations located in caribean(they were very polite and helpful)

Unacceptable
Unacceptable - lies and bad service!
I booked a suite with a king bed and sofabed for four adults.
When we arrived, the receptionist said we had no reservation. Later he found out that they had given our suite to someone else.
So they gave us another suite. This so-called suite, however, had only one bed.
I asked to speak to a manager and the receptionist said no. “Don’t have his phone number”.
Long story short, I slept on the floor.
Today, I was informed that I would receive a partiel compensation of $40 which to me seems like not taking responsibility for a prepaid room for $223 that I did not get!
This is not acceptable and quite frankly a ridiculos compensatation.
Not only did I have to sleep on the floor but what is worse is the poor service that the hotel demonstrated in handling the situation.
Dirty room at Hotel
Hotel in Manchester ( M1 5QA), Booked for 4 nights. The room was dusty and mould on the cracked wall (I have allergy). Requested the room to be dusted and cleaned, nobody came to do so. I couldn't sleep properly as I would get blocked nose and sneezing.

We had a lovely stay at the Holiday Inn….Rugby
Northampton M1 for my daughter’s birthday treat visiting Woburn Safari Park.
I just have to mention Aimee who was so helpful and
attentive when our room key wouldn’t open and the phone wouldn’t work neither. The following day after our return to the hotel all our belongings had been transferred over to another room and the Manager also
gave me a drinks voucher for the inconvenience…..
Lovely decor around the lounge area and the evening meal food was super…..for what we paid we really can’t
complain about anything….they also have an electric car point too. Thank you
Bad experience at Holiday Inn Express Folkestone
I sent this letter to the General Manager of the Holiday Inn Express Folkestone and have received no reply.
Dear General Manager
I stayed at your hotel last wednesday night (27th April) prior to taking the Eurotunnel on Thursday.
When I arrived I thought it was a bit odd that the main overhead light didn’t work. I thought maybe the bulb had gone.
When I got up at 5.30 am to make a cup of tea (without which life is not worth living) I found that the kettle didn’t work.
Neither did the hairdryer. I had to get dressed and go to reception. I was told I hadn’t pushed the key card in far enough.
The man on reception came with me to check. However he couldn’t make these things work either. I complained bitterly,
only to be told that had I informed him the night before he could have changed my room. I didn’t need to dry my hair or make a
cup of tea the night before so that was not very helpful.
Then he suggested I could go to another room to make tea and/or dry my hair. This seemed absurd to me and not in the slightest convenient
as I had my dog with me who would have had to be left alone in my room. I declined and complained again at which the receptionist tuned tail and told me to “please myself”.
This was not how I wished to start my day before a 500 mile journey.
When I asked why appliances weren’t check each day I was told that they were and the fault must have only just happened. I’m sorry I just don’t believe this.
Having paid for what I thought would be a decent standard hotel room, I was proved quite wrong.
Also only one of the lavatory flushes worked and the water pressure in the shower was feeble to say the least.
I would greatly appreciate being reimbursed for what turned out to be a very unpleasant experience.
Yours sincerely,
Deborah McWilliams.

On 22/04/22 I booked four rooms via hotels.com at the IHG Manchester City Centre for 7 people. All of the rooms were dirty, with walls needing painting, cracked tiles and ripped fabric on bedding. After showing the pictures I had taken to a member of the reception I was told that I would receive a full refund for the rooms. I have emailed them several times and have still not received a refund. For each room upon checkin we were asked for a £50 deposit and this has still not been re-credited to our accounts, which is absolutely disgusting considering the state of the rooms. I was told that the Hotel was due a refurb starting from the top floors down but if this is the case they should stop charging £125 per night as the rooms are not refurbished as they are definitely not value for money.

Handy for NEC Birmingham
13 miles south of n.e.c. Birmingham. Hotel was spotless, fast check in, with very helpful and friendly staff. Beds very comfy and nice cotton sheets. Self service breakfast and plenty of choice.

My family stated in Holiday Inn IHG Sutton at Gibson Road SM1 2RF. I remind all customer of that restaurant dealing with the dinner's crew should pay high attention to what the waiters suggest you during your ordering. They won't tell you there are upcharge of every single item the they suggested while you ordering, for example butter, which made my budget 60% over. After bargaining, they agreed a refund for my family dinner. Please also read carefully every word the menu. Very bad service!
Just 4 days ago, I visited the same brand at Paris near the airport, the services was good.
